چکیده
the proposed algorithm with the same truiicafion length in the Viterbi decoder. The results show that the error-correction capability of the proposed algorithm is significantly improved over that of the existing algorithm. When truncation length is set to 25 and channel error is 5%, the existing algorithm cannot correct 0.242% of errors, while the proposed algorithm reduces it to 10.088% These figures become prominent when truncation length is set to 15; 2.939% (existing algorithm) against 0.746% (proposed algorithm) uncorrected errors. As shown in Fig. 4, the truncation length of proposed algorithm can be set to the value less than that of the existing algorithm to obtain the same error rate.

In this paper, the performance of a parallel acquisition scheme is evaluated for a direct-sequence/codedivision-multiple-access (DS/CDMA) system with imperfect power control in a low-earth-orbit (LEO) mobile satellite environment. The acquisition scheme consists of a parallel matched-filter and a FFT processor. The uplink of mobile satellite channel is modeled as a shadowed Rician fading channe...
متن کاملCapacity, Throughput, and Delay Analysis of a Cellular DS CDMA System With Imperfect Power Control and Imperfect Sectorization
An analytical model is developed to evaluate the performance of a cellular slotted DS CDMA system in terms of user capacity, throughput, and delay for the reverse link, i.e., from mobile to base station, considering interference from both home cell and adjacent cells. The user capacity is studied for voice communications and the throughput and delay are investigated for data communications. The...
متن کاملPerformance of Reverse-Link Synchronous DS-CDMA System on a Frequency-Selective Multipath Fading Channel with Imperfect Power Control
We analyze the performance for reverse-link synchronous DS-CDMA system in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel with an imperfect power control scheme. The performance degradation due to power control error (PCE), which is approximated by a log-normally distributed random variable, is estimated as a function of the standard deviation of the PCE. In addition, we investigate the impacts o...

The throughput enhancement of Space-Time Spreading (STS)-based Multicarrier Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) system is investigated in this paper. Variable Spreading Factor (VSF) is utilized to improve the data throughput of the system. In this contribution, an analytical approach is proposed to compute a new expression for the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of t...
